the importance of AED

AED
if i remember correctly
AED stand for automated external defibrillator
a portable defib layman machine
to provide shock if someone having heart attack

saw a old man earlier on at bugis
lying on the floor
with 2 young girls doing cpr
i dumped my bag to my mom
and went forward to assist em
from my years of experience as a/e nurse
i haf a feeling tat the old man has passed away
i checked his pulse
my guess was right
no pulse felt
security came
i asked AED from em
but none can ans me
"ambulance is coming"
tats all they can said
if AED is available
mayb tat old man can be saved
haiz..
next day
i check data to search if any collapse case sent to a/e at 8pm+
tat old man really send to my dept
and he passed away..

may he rest in peace...
